Ten Bears assisted OMB/DFM with pre-purchase due diligence with several parcels proposed for use on the Kent County Family Courthouse project. This generally included completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to identify potential environmental concerns, enrolling some of the parcels in the State of Delaware Brownfield Program, completing soil, groundwater, and soil gas sampling to identify areas of contamination, coordinating and reviewing the removal of several underground storage tanks, coordinating the removal of contaminated soils off-site, and working with DNREC to get approval throughout the process.
The services we provided and data analysis we completed was a big component in the planning phases for the courthouse building and associated parking garage. Accordingly, Ten Bears completed Soil-Reuse Plans, Contaminated Materials Management Plans, Environmental Covenants, and provided other recommendations to assist the project managers with meeting environmental regulations. Ten Bears currently is assisting as the primary construction oversight contractor, specifically in areas of known contamination.
